BSO Villa Hoog en Laag (Kulturhus)

BSO Villa Hoog en Laag (Kulturhus) has been a trusted out-of-school care location in the heart of Beek since 1 January 2005. Housed in the vibrant Kulturhus at Reigerstraat 5, we welcome up to thirty primary-school children each day and offer them a warm and safe second home. Our BSO works closely with De Biezenkamp primary school; children from this school are more than welcome and can come straight to us after classes. Our location features three cosy group rooms, each designed around the world of primary-school children. The rooms can be flexibly arranged so we can respond to the children’s changing needs: sometimes they need quiet time with a book or a calm game, other times they crave movement and creative challenges. Our pedagogical staff are on hand to guide the children in their choices and to encourage them to discover new things. A major plus of our site is the private, green garden adjoining the Kulturhus. Here children can play outside to their hearts’ content, romp, build dens or simply enjoy the fresh air. We also regularly use the neighbouring ‘struintuin’, a natural play area where children can climb, scramble and explore. These outdoor spaces provide endless opportunities for nature and adventure activities that match the curiosity and energy of school-age children. At BSO Villa Hoog en Laag we believe it is important that children can develop at their own pace. We offer a safe and familiar environment with room for both relaxation and challenge. Our approach is aimed at encouraging children to follow their curiosity and learn new things. We work from a clear pedagogical framework in which attention, respect and fun are central. During school weeks we are open on the days that De Biezenkamp primary school has classes. In the holidays we provide holiday care, devoting extra time and attention to creative and sporting activities—think crafts, drama, sports and games, but also quiet moments such as story time or cosy corners.
