BSO 't Zonnehoekje Kikker

BSO ’t Zonnehoekje Kikker is conveniently located at Evertsweertplantsoen 3C in Amsterdam’s Nieuw-West district. As part of the national ’t Zonnehoekje organisation, we have provided reliable after-school care for up to 66 children aged 4 to 12 since 2015. Our pedagogical approach centres on freedom of choice and self-direction. After a busy school day, children decide for themselves how they want to spend their afternoon. We collect pupils from local primary schools in our own minibus, giving parents peace of mind while they work. Once inside, a varied programme awaits: from quietly unwinding with a book to actively joining sports and games. Creativity is highly valued; every week large rolls of paper, paint, craft materials and natural resources are laid out so children can create their own artworks. Staff observe and facilitate, but the children are the directors of their creative process. During school holidays we are open all day from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and run an extensive holiday programme packed with workshops, sports clinics and excursions to museums, play forests and petting farms. Parents with a contract that includes holiday care can use their holiday credit flexibly without being tied to regular care days. Our team consists of experienced pedagogical staff who know each child personally and encourage them to discover new things. We work in one broad age group so that children from different schools and ages meet and learn from each other. Together we create a safe, homely environment in which every child can be themselves and grow with pleasure.
