BSO 't Werkel

BSO ’t Werkel in Heerde is a small-scale after-school care centre located in its own building on the grounds of Jenaplanschool at Beatrixweg 30. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 years. The location enjoys the extensive outdoor area of the school, featuring large trees, a sand pit, an amphitheatre, a vegetable garden and even chickens. Outdoor play and nature experience are at the heart of our approach. Children actively help in the vegetable garden and take care of the animals. During free play they can build dens, play with water and sand or hide in the bushes. Every day we organise activities in the fields of nature, technology, art, theatre and sports & games, always tailored to the children’s ages and interests. Each child is invited to help plan the activity programme, learning to negotiate, voice their own wishes and reach compromises. Children who prefer free play can always choose their own form of relaxation. During school holidays we run the adventurous Holiday Madness programme, packed with workshops, trips and nature-inspired activities, making every holiday a special experience.
