BSO 't Koninkrijkje

Welcome to BSO ’t Koninkrijkje, our welcoming after-school care centre located at Mathilde erf 5 in Capelle aan den IJssel. We provide out-of-school care for primary-school children aged 4 to 12 years in two cosy BSO groups with a total of 66 places. Our approach is built on the belief that every child should feel safe and at ease. We therefore work with fixed groups and a permanent mentor for each child. The intake group (ages 4–6) is organised horizontally, giving children who have just left daycare and started primary school a gentle transition. Our vertical groups (ages 6–12) and the dedicated 8+ group give older children space for greater independence and age-appropriate activities. Freedom of choice is central to our philosophy. We operate an open-door policy: children are free to move through our rooms as they wish. You will find a creative corner, construction area, doll corner and a quiet reading or chill-out zone. Every day our pedagogical staff offer a varied programme of activities, and children decide for themselves whether to join in or engage in free play. During school holidays we run an extensive holiday programme packed with sports, games and creative workshops. We collect children from various primary schools in Capelle aan den IJssel after lessons finish and provide both before-school care (from 7 a.m.) and after-school care. We are also open on study days and during all school holidays. A hot meal is included, and our spacious outdoor play area of more than 1,000 m² gives children plenty of room to let off steam. In short, at BSO ’t Koninkrijkje children find a familiar place where they can relax, play and develop at their own pace.
