Sudbury BSO Amersfoort

Sudbury BSO Amersfoort is an integral part of Sudbury School Amersfoort. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children at our location on Softwareweg 6 in Amersfoort. Our BSO is completely integrated with the school: we share the same vision, structure, and staff members who also work during regular school hours. This creates a seamless transition from school day to after-school care for your child. Our approach is unique in the Netherlands. Children learn with and from each other in a mixed-age environment from 4 to 13 years old. The predictable structure they're familiar with from school continues during BSO hours. This means children can use the same spaces, continue the same activities, and see familiar faces around them. We believe in self-direction and personal responsibility. Children decide for themselves how to spend their after-school time, choosing from all activities the school offers. This can range from free play to continuing their own projects, from playing together to quietly reading a book. Our supervision is there to provide support when needed, but mainly to create a safe and familiar environment where children can fully develop themselves. For parents of students up to and including 13 years old, BSO participation is a standard part of the school agreement. This gives you as a parent the peace of mind of one location where your child stays throughout the day, without extra travel time or unfamiliar environments.
