BSO Struin West

BSO Struin West is located at Henry Dunantstraat 8 in Nijmegen-West and is part of Struin, an organization that offers children unforgettable nature experiences. Our West branch is a nature-based after-school care facility with the Lanteerne as our shelter location. We provide care for up to 28 children aged 4 to 12 years. At Struin West, we believe that children should have the freedom to play freely in nature. Our activities are always inspired by what the environment, seasons, and weather have to offer. Children can build huts and climb trees, roast chestnuts on a self-made fire, catch fish with a large landing net, search for beavers, make flower bouquets and grass wreaths, complete survival courses, catch mice with a 'live trap', make herb butter from spring plants, play tag and hide-and-seek in the forest, create musical instruments, find peace in nature, and play freely in the forest with friends. Our pedagogical approach is based on nature education. We give children the chance to truly play freely in nature and teach them about the natural environment in a playful way. We work with small groups so that each child receives the attention they deserve and so that we can provide safe outdoor care.
