About this care

AI
BSO De Stadsgeuzen is a small-scale after-school care centre located in the historic centre of Alkmaar. We are based in the cosy neighbourhood centre ‘De Eenhoorn’ at Verdronkenoord 44. With just one location and a maximum of 20 places, we can give every child personal attention. All children aged 4 to 12 are together in one horizontal group, learning from and helping one another. Each afternoon starts with a shared snack and drink at the table, where children talk about their school day. Afterwards they are free to choose their activities. Indoors they can do crafts, play games, make music or relax with a book. Outdoors we encourage play in the city garden and often walk to nearby playgrounds or parks. Short excursions, such as shopping together or visiting a cultural spot in town, are part of the programme. Children are encouraged to come up with their own ideas, help organise activities and discover their talents. Our pedagogical staff guide when needed, yet give children space to make their own choices and take responsibility. Safety and a sense of security are paramount. The compact, familiar setting helps every child feel at home quickly. We operate a clear complaints procedure and are always open to questions or suggestions from parents. BSO De Stadsgeuzen offers personal, caring after-school care in the heart of Alkmaar.
