De Mason Rakkers

The after-school care (BSO) of De Rakkers is located at Stevinstraat 220 in the heart of Scheveningen. We are a small-scale BSO with room for up to 16 children per day, offering a warm and familiar second home. From 15:00 – or from 12:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays – our staff pick the children up from nearby primary schools: Willem de Zwijgerschool, De Vuurtoren and Het Volle Leven. This way the afternoon starts without hassle and with a smile. On arrival the children are served a hot meal so they are re-energised for the activities ahead. Our daily programme runs until 17:30 and is packed with indoor and outdoor games, arts-and-crafts sessions, sports and play afternoons, homework support and regular excursions to the woods, beach, dunes or playgrounds. Each month focuses on a different theme – think ‘Summer’ or ‘Sports and Games’ – so no two weeks are ever the same. During school holidays we are open every weekday from 07:30 to 19:00. We organise a themed day or outing every single day, ranging from museum visits to adventures in nature. Study days can also be covered; you simply register your child in advance. Our strength lies in personal attention and a homely atmosphere. We get to know every child and every parent personally, creating the feeling of one big family. Your child is never just a number with us – each child is unique and special.
