SKSG Rode Pimpernel

Welcome to SKSG Rode Pimpernel, our after-school care (BSO) located in the heart of the green Beijum district in Groningen. From our building at Emingaheerd 2 we pick up children aged 4 to 13 after school and offer them a familiar place to play, discover and simply be themselves. We work closely with the primary schools Beijumkorf, De Heerdstee, Het Palet, De Kimkiel, Johannes Calvijnschool and Doefmat. Every school day our pedagogical staff are ready to welcome the children with a smile. Breakfast is taken care of: each morning we provide a free breakfast. Our activities revolve around six pillars: Sport Experience (sports and movement), Masterchef (cooking and nutrition), SKSG Goes Green (nature and sustainability), Discovery Kids (science and technology), SKSG Got Talent (arts and culture) and Summer Fun (summer weeks). During holidays we work with themes and organise exciting outings such as SKSG Got Talent in Martiniplaza or a meet-and-greet with a top athlete. Children can also earn the Nijntje Movement Diploma: a series of lessons in which they learn basic skills like gymnastics, football and climbing while having fun. Our large discovery garden is the jewel in our crown. Here children can race on tricycles, bake sand pies, tend the vegetable garden or quietly observe a little bug. We go outside every day, rain or shine; our outdoor suits keep everyone warm and dry. The garden offers challenging play areas for both the youngest and oldest BSO children. In short, at SKSG Rode Pimpernel your child will find a safe, challenging environment in which to grow at his or her own pace. We look at what each child needs and encourage every child in their development.
