Vespercare - IKC Schalkwijk Dumont

Welcome to Vespercare – IKC Schalkwijk Dumont, our BSO+ location at Niels Finsenstraat 35 in Haarlem-Schalkwijk. We are part of Vesper BSO+ and provide after-school care specifically for children with additional support needs. Our site is located on the grounds of IKC Schalkwijk Dumont and is directly linked to the school. We have space for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12. Our pedagogical staff are trained to guide children with special care requirements. We work closely with the teaching team of IKC Schalkwijk and with Kenter Youth Care. The activities we offer match the child’s world of experience and are designed to strengthen self-confidence, social skills and independence. Examples include creative expression, play and movement, and targeted relaxation exercises. Every afternoon we start with a quiet moment and a healthy snack. Children then choose which activity they want to join. Our rooms are safe and clearly arranged so every child feels at home quickly. Parents and carers are actively involved in their child’s development. We schedule regular parent meetings and share photos and reports through a secure environment. Vespercare – IKC Schalkwijk Dumont is open on weekdays from school closing time until 6.30 pm. During school holidays and study days we offer full-day care.
