Sam&max

Sam&max is our after-school care (BSO) location in the Hovenhuus at Hovenierstraat 91 in Deventer. We are part of Sam&ko childcare, the childcare organisation within the Raster Group. Our name is inspired by the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak – just like Max in the story, children at our centre can play, discover and have adventures. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend primary school. We pick up the younger children daily from the Hovenschool; older children usually make their own way to the Hovenhuus. On arrival, a drink and a tasty snack are always ready. Then it is time to play together, have fun and take part in enjoyable activities. In our playground, children meet their neighbourhood friends, making Sam&max a real meeting place in the De Hoven district. Our pedagogical staff work according to the Sam&ko philosophy: playing together, learning together, developing together and, above all, having fun together. We tailor our activities to the children’s world of experience and actively involve them in thinking up themes and outings. During school holidays and on study days we are open extra hours: we provide care from 08.00 to 18.30 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Parents are very welcome to come for a tour.
