Prins Mads

BSO Prins Mads is a small-scale after-school care facility located in two connected former shop premises on the corner of Zoutkeetsplein and Zoutkeetsgracht in Amsterdam. We provide care for a maximum of 10 children per day, creating a familiar and homely atmosphere. The location is primarily intended for children coming from daycare De Kleine Prins, but children from other schools are also welcome. Our BSO is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On school days we welcome children from 2:00 PM to 6:15 PM. During school holidays we are open from 8:15 AM to 6:15 PM. We pick up children from primary school De Zeeheld, Montessori school De Eilanden and on Fridays also from De Burght. Children from other primary schools are welcome, but are not included in the regular pick-up schedule. The spaces are cozy and bright, and there are several playgrounds in the immediate vicinity. On school days we frequently use the 'pirate playground' in Planciusstraat and the Zuiderspeeltuin, which is a five-minute walk away. During holidays we also visit playgrounds that are further away. We believe in healthy and responsible nutrition. We serve brown bread and crackers with savory or healthy sweet toppings, and around five o'clock we offer cucumber, tomato, carrot or an apple as a snack. Together with the children, we regularly prepare healthy meals and drinks ourselves. No meat is served at Prins Mads. Our pedagogical policy is based on the Gordon Method, a communicative approach that we also use at De Kleine Prins. The policy is available for inspection at both locations and can be sent by email upon request.
