Plateau bso Theo Thijssen

Welcome to BSO Theo Thijssen, part of Kindcentrum Theo Thijssen located at Sluisstraat 139 in the centre of Assen. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in two age-based groups: BSO 1 for children aged 4–6 and BSO 2 for children aged 7 and older. Our service is fully integrated into the Dalton primary school, allowing children to stay in a familiar environment after lessons end. Our pedagogical approach is rooted in the Dalton core values of freedom, responsibility, independence and cooperation. Each afternoon begins with a shared moment; afterwards children decide for themselves where and with whom they want to play or which guided activity they would like to join. We offer a wide range of creative, sporting and cultural activities, including art lessons led by our specialist teacher for visual arts and heritage. Excursions and outings are organised regularly; parents are always informed in advance through our KidsAdmin communication system. During term time we are open from 14:15 to 17:45. During school holidays and study days we welcome children from 07:30 to 18:00. Healthy snacks and drinks are provided in a safe, homely atmosphere where every child feels welcome. Our regular BSO team consists of Megan van Dijk, Miranda Middelkamp-Hovius, Twan Komdeur, Miedia Noori and Liesbeth Veenstra, who are ready every day to give your child a great afternoon.
