BSO Oppenhuizen

BSO Oppenhuizen is located in the multifunctional centre at P. Walmastrjitte 8 in Oppenhuizen and is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 13. Our programme is built around one stable group, creating a familiar and safe setting where every child feels at home. We are open Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 18:00 and on Friday from 12:00 to 18:00. During school holidays and study days we offer full-day care. Children spend time in a dedicated group room that opens directly onto a private outdoor play area. This secure garden gives them plenty of space to run, play and explore—exactly what they need after a day at school. Our work is guided by a clear pedagogical policy that matches the developmental stage of primary-school children. We provide structure while encouraging children’s own initiative. Through play we challenge their motor, cognitive, language and creative skills, and we coach them in social interaction so they can build relationships with growing independence. Every child is assigned a personal mentor. This qualified staff member is the fixed point of contact for both child and parent, keeping communication short and personal. We foster a homely atmosphere with room for rest and relaxation as well as activities and challenges. Dutch is our main language; when appropriate we also use Frisian, reflecting the local culture.
