Kinderwoud BSO 't Wad

Welcome to Kinderwoud BSO 't Wad, located on the ground floor of Integral Child Centre 't Wad at Midlumerlaan 13 in Harlingen. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend primary school 't Wad or other nearby schools. Our BSO is a homely place where children can unwind after school and explore to their heart’s content. Our professional pedagogical staff create a warm, secure environment in which every child feels GEZien (seen). We work from three core values: Security, Individuality and Self-development. The child is central and is given every opportunity to develop in his or her own way. We believe that learning through play, exercise, music and healthy nutrition are essential for positive brain development, which is why these pillars are reflected in all our activities. Every day we offer a varied programme of activities. Children can take part in creative craft projects, cook and bake in our children’s kitchen, enjoy sports and movement activities in the gym or on the playground, and discover nature together during outings in the local area. We work thematically; recent themes have included ‘Backpack yourself crazy’, ‘Art tickles’ and ‘Do you feel what I feel’. These themes are supported by workshops and trips that match the children’s interests. We collect children from primary school 't Wad and other schools in the neighbourhood. Our spacious group room offers different corners where children can play, relax or do homework. We have a large garden with play equipment and plenty of space to run and romp. Fruit and drinks are always available. Parents are actively involved in the childcare through our local parents’ committee. Together we ensure that every day is a beautiful day for our children.
