Babino BSO Herman Gorter (hoofdgebouw)

Babino BSO Herman Gorter (main building) is located inside the main building of public primary school Herman Gorter at D. Doniastraat 18 in Zaandam. We provide after-school care for up to 43 children aged 4 to 12 years. This location welcomes the oldest pupils of the school in three base groups: the Yellow Giraffe, the Grey Elephant and the Green Hippo. We tailor our activity programme to the interests and developmental stage of this older age group and the children are actively involved in deciding what they would like to do. Our rooms are arranged into cosy corners where children can do arts and crafts, build, read a book or simply relax. Outside, children can play on the spacious school playground where they have plenty of room to burn off energy. For every holiday we compile an exciting and varied activity schedule, always including at least one excursion. Activities range from cooking lunch, sports and games, creative workshops to trips to the forest, a playground or the bowling alley. We work closely with OBS Herman Gorter and, together with OBS De Dijk, form an Integral Child Centre (IKC). Within an IKC everyone works from one shared vision, one team and one plan, ensuring a seamless transition between school time and after-school time. Our pedagogical staff collect the children directly from their classrooms after school and guide them to the BSO rooms. There is ample space for homework, but also for free play and relaxation. After all, BSO time is children’s free time. Our opening hours are: after-school care Monday to Friday from the end of the school day until 18.30. During holidays and study days we provide care from 7.00/8.00 until 18.30. We welcome children from OBS Herman Gorter and make sure they feel safe, secure and challenged with us.
