Open-Up!|Fun-Kidz at Terheijdenseweg 516 in Breda is the sports and culture after-school care where children aged 4 to 12 can move, create and discover after school. We pick up children from various primary schools in the area and offer them a dynamic place where sports, play and culture are central. Children can choose from three pillars: Sports, Culture and Meeting. Under 'Sports' we use the adjacent sports field with clubhouse of Breda Rugby Club and our own schoolyard for running, climbing, tag, rugby, football and much more. We work with qualified pedagogical (sports) staff who put together a varied program every day, with the children's wishes leading the way. Under 'Culture' we offer three- to four-week projects around exciting themes. Children experiment, create and go on trips: we visit Breda Photo, the museum and discover initiatives in the neighborhood. Our culture rooms offer all the space and materials to paint, build, make music and much more. For children who want to unwind after a busy school day, there is 'Meeting': a quiet place with bean bags, books and craft materials. The youngest children (groups 1-3) can relax here through play, while older children (from group 4) choose age-appropriate activities. We believe it is important that children have a say in their afternoon. In this way they learn that they have influence on their own time. Our pedagogical staff are always ready with a listening ear and ensure that every child has a pleasant afternoon, whether they choose to be active in sports, express themselves creatively or just take a moment to relax.
