Ons Speelhuis BSO

BSO Ons Speelhuis is located in the Papegaaienburg residential area of Vlissingen, right next to the local shopping centre and within De Wissel primary school at Flamingoweg 53. The out-of-school care facility welcomes up to 64 children and is organised into three fixed home groups: group 1 (ages 4-5), group 2 (ages 5-7) and group 3 (ages 7-13). In addition to after-school care, we also provide before-school care from 07:30 – 08:15. Our pedagogical approach rests on four pillars: providing a safe environment, fostering development through shared play, learning and enjoyment, working closely with parents, and caring for one another. Each group is staffed by a consistent team so that children always see familiar faces and parents know exactly who is caring for their child. Our large green garden invites discovery and physical play with sand, water, shady spots and a variety of outdoor toys. Indoors, a cosy living-room area offers reading corners, games tables and creative spaces. Structure and predictability are key. Every afternoon begins with a shared moment, after which children can choose between structured activities or free play. During school holidays we organise excursions to nearby playgrounds, the deer park behind the school and other local attractions. Themes are regularly aligned with De Wissel primary school to ensure a smooth transition between school and after-school care. Parents receive all information through our parent portal and are always welcome to share questions or ideas with us.
