BSO Neptunus

BSO Neptunus is part of Kindcentrum De Komeet and is located in the LUX Activity Centre at Brandpunt 1 in Heerhugowaard. We provide after-school care for children aged 7 to 13 attending De Reflector primary school. Our location has space for up to 20 children in the Neptunus group. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere where children feel safe and relaxed. Personal attention and respect for each child’s individual development are central to our approach. Children are free to choose what they play and which activities they join. We do not use a fixed activity schedule, but instead respond to the ideas and needs of the children. They can play freely, do crafts, take part in sports, or join a group activity. Our pedagogical staff supervise the children on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 14:30 to 18:00 during school weeks. On study days and holidays, we are open from 7:30 to 18:00. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons, the children stay at the main location of De Komeet, where they join the younger BSO group. We believe in the importance of outdoor play and movement. A staff member is always present on the school playground to supervise and help resolve any conflicts. During holiday weeks, we regularly organise outings and workshops, such as a sports and games session with an external expert on Tuesday afternoons. Communication with parents takes place through the parent portal Konnect, where we share photos and updates about the children’s experiences. Parents can easily stay in touch with the group. We work closely with parents to support their child’s well-being and invite them annually for a parent consultation.
