Natuur BSO De Wildernis

Natuur BSO De Wildernis is located at Hogenslagweg 10 in Doetinchem and provides after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. We are outdoors all year round and experience nature in the most direct way possible. Our pedagogical staff pick up children after school and take them to various nature areas in the city. There we observe the growth of tadpoles, learn which herbs are edible, slide on ice in winter and discover mushrooms in all colors and shapes. We believe that children develop best by exploring and experiencing on their own. That's why we don't bring toys and don't use screens. Nature itself is our playground: branches, stones, water and mud. Children are given space to take risks, such as climbing trees or playing near water, always under supervision and with clear age-appropriate rules. In the afternoon we serve organic vegetables and fruit, supplemented with water or fresh tea. During vacation weeks we regularly cook on an open fire. Good outdoor clothing is essential, as we go outside in all weather conditions.
