BSO Mundo Evertsenstraat

Welcome to BSO Mundo Evertsenstraat, our adventurous after-school care in the heart of Barendrecht. Since January 1, 2010, we have offered a second home for up to 44 school-age children aged 4 to 12 on the ground floor of Dr. Schaepmanschool at Evertsenstraat 16. From September 2024 we work closely with the school to create a seamless transition from the school day to free time. With us everything revolves around discovering, playing and being yourself. We believe that every child has unique talents that flourish best in a safe, challenging environment. That is why we say: "At Mundo we do more than just childcare – we help children develop in whatever direction they want." Our pedagogical professionals are ready every day to take children on an adventure, always within a clear structure that guarantees safety. Our space is designed according to three recognizable concepts: the grand café/kitchen where children cook together and have table conversations, the studio full of materials for crafts, painting and building, and ‘Grandma’s living room’ where they can relax with a book or a game. We use real plates, glasses and crockery so that children get to know the real world. Plants and natural materials bring the outdoors inside. Playing outside is in our DNA. We go outside every day – even when it rains – and happily use the Dr. Schaepmanschool playground and the neighbourhood. With binoculars and magnifying glass in hand, we look at construction sites, search for autumn leaves and pine cones or stomp in puddles in our boots. We regularly receive visits from the Mundo Activity Team. These professionals provide tailor-made sports & games, nature and creative workshops. During holidays and ADV days there is a festive programme with outings, theme workshops and special guests. Before- and after-school care is available five days a week. We open at 7:30 am for before-school care and after school until 6:30 pm. Children who do not attend Dr. Schaepmanschool are also very welcome; please note that we cannot provide pick-up and drop-off services from other schools. Together with parents we make arrangements for flexible care days and holiday care so that every family can put together a suitable schedule. We see the time at the BSO as real free time. Children are free to choose: do nothing for a while, join an activity, do sports, play or be creative. It doesn’t have to be perfect, as long as they learn to be themselves in a beautiful way. Our pedagogical staff observe, encourage and offer a listening ear. Together with parents we form a close-knit team around the child. This way parents can go out with peace of mind to develop themselves while their child discovers the world with us.
