Mosterdzaadje Kinderopvang

At the after-school care (BSO) of Het Mosterdzaadje, located at Pottebakkerstraat 6 in Winschoten, children aged 4 to 13 feel right at home. We are a small-scale, homely BSO with a Christian identity, offering space for relaxation, adventure and personal growth. Our site is just a stone’s throw from De Leilinde primary school, with whom we work closely. After school, children come straight to us; we pick them up and bring them safely to our spacious, green location. There they are welcomed by a warm atmosphere, dedicated pedagogical staff and a programme that dovetails with their school day. Being outdoors is central to our approach. We have a large garden and are only 150 metres from the woods. Every afternoon we head out: building dens, lighting fires with a fire-steel, balancing on a slackline, climbing trees and exploring nature with GPS devices and magnifying glasses. We also regularly cycle or cargo-bike to the petting farm, nature playground and the beach. Older BSO children find extra challenges: woodworking and sawing, repairing bikes, technical craft projects or simply relaxing in a hammock. We work in small, mixed-age groups so every child receives the attention they deserve. Our BSO is open 47 weeks a year, Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 18:00. During school holidays and study days we provide full-day care. Parents appreciate our open, personal communication; we love sharing how their child’s day unfolded. In short, Het Mosterdzaadje is the place where children can truly be children after school – with muddy boots, adventure in their heads and smiles on their faces.
