Meer BSO

Welcome to Meer-BSO, the after-school care located in the unique setting of Meerzoo animal park at Steenwijkerweg 15, Marknesse. We provide care for children aged 4 to 15 in a small-scale, homely environment where animals, nature and play are central. Our BSO is situated on a fully fenced site with both indoor and outdoor areas. Outside you will find enclosures with a variety of animals: from rabbits and parrots to raccoons and snakes. Under supervision, children are allowed to help care for some of these animals. In addition, there is a large garden with a climbing frame with slide, scooters and go-karts, a seesaw and a hut/playhouse. We work in small, vertical groups where children of different ages play and learn together. This stimulates social development and a sense of togetherness. After school we pick up the children from school (pick-up service) and bring them to our location. During school holidays, parents bring and collect their child themselves. Our SKJ-registered pedagogical staff are ready every day to give the children a safe, challenging and, above all, fun time. We pay a lot of attention to personal contact with parents: when dropping off and picking up, through a fixed mentor for each child and during intake and evaluation meetings. Prior to the first day of care, we invite parents and child for a no-obligation introductory meeting. Meer-BSO is open all year round, except for official holidays and a few study days. We offer flexible sessions: short (3:00 PM–6:30 PM), short continuous (2:00 PM–6:30 PM), long (12:00 PM–6:30 PM) and during holidays from 8:00 AM–6:30 PM. Registration is possible for at least one session per week.
