BSO Marijtje Doets at Makassarweg 66 in Almere-Buiten is the place where primary-school children aged 4 to 12 meet after school to play, discover and grow together. As part of family-run childcare organisation Kindercentrum Marijtje Doets – a trusted name in Almere for over 20 years – this location offers out-of-school care in a homely atmosphere with lots of personal attention. We partner with primary school Het Kristal, so children can walk straight to our BSO after their school day. With 28 regular places the groups stay small and every child has room to be themselves. Our pedagogical staff welcome each child with a high-five, sit together in fixed groups for a healthy meal and take time to talk the day through. Every child is important and special to us. We consciously choose a screen-free environment: no TV, iPads, phones or game consoles. Instead, children spend lots of time outside in our garden and can join a varied programme of daily activities. The children help create the activity calendar themselves, so they always have a say in what we do. Whether it is sports and games, arts and crafts or exploring nature – children decide for themselves whether to join in. Respect for people, animals and nature is the common thread in our vision. We work from our core values: respect, security, curiosity, self-confidence and cooperation. In this way we help children take their first steps towards becoming conscious, curious and respectful people.
