BSO Madelief

BSO Madelief has been a trusted, home-like after-school care facility in Amstelveen since 1995. We are located on the ground floor of the same building as Vrije School Parcival and Montessori de Linde at Lindenlaan 336. Each day we welcome up to 55 children aged 4 to 12. Our educational approach is rooted in Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophical view of the child: we work with calm, rhythm and repetition, provide space for imitation and respectful interaction, and challenge children through will education and sensory development. Our afternoon programme starts at 15:15 with a shared meal and a verse. Afterwards children can choose free play, crafts, outdoor play or join an activity linked to the season or annual festivals. Around Michaelmas we make kites and swords, at Easter we craft bunnies and chicks, and in spring we sow cress in our garden. During holidays and teacher-training days we are open from 08:00 to 18:30 and run themed programmes suitable for all ages. We collect children from Vrije School Parcival and, when space allows, from other nearby schools. Children from Montessori de Linde walk independently through an internal door to our space. We have a large garden and make regular trips to the woods and park. Our stable team of pedagogical staff guarantees a familiar, safe atmosphere in which every child can flourish.
