Lyts Boerehiem

Welcome to Lyts Boerehiem, our after-school care in the heart of the Frisian village of Nij Beets. Since 2017, we have been offering children aged 4 to 12 a unique childcare experience on a working farm. Our BSO consists of two cozy groups of 11 and 8 children, where children have the space to play, discover and learn in a natural environment. Our location at Kanaelwei Súd 12A is situated on the grounds of 't Boerehiem, where children come into daily contact with farm life. The children can help care for the animals, learn about vegetables and fruit in our vegetable garden, and enjoy the spacious outdoor area we have at our disposal. For coffee, lunch and in bad weather we use our own canteen, where children can enjoy being together. We believe in the power of being outdoors and working with our hands. Children not only learn about nature and animals through play, but also develop important social skills by working together on farm chores. Our pedagogical staff guide the children in a warm and involved manner, with room for their own initiative and discovery. Lyts Boerehiem is more than just after-school care - it's a place where children love to go, where they can romp in the fresh air, where friendships are formed and where they go home with a smile on their face. We work together with primary school De Arke in Nij Beets, ensuring a smooth transition from school to BSO.
