Loge in huis

LoGé in huis is a small-scale, personal childcare and after-school care organisation that has been located at Vijverlaan 2 in Scherpenzeel since 2008. Our BSO is part of a unique collaboration with the nursing home ‘Huis in de Wei’, allowing children to interact with elderly residents on a daily basis. In this homely setting we work with vertical groups of up to fourteen to sixteen children. After school, children are picked up and join their siblings in the group, creating a familiar and safe atmosphere. Our pedagogical staff act as a fixed mentor for the children at least one session per week. They guide each child in his or her development and stimulate both personal and social competences. After school the afternoon starts with a shared moment: fruit, drinks and a chat. Afterwards there is room for free play activities, arts and crafts, reading aloud, singing or running an errand. At least once a week we organise an activity together with the residents of the nursing home, such as playing games, singing songs or crafting. In this way our children naturally learn to take others into account and develop social skills. We believe being outdoors is important: we regularly take a walk to the park to feed the ducks or play in the garden. The BSO is open from 07:00 to 18:00. In the morning we take the children to school and pick them up again at the end of the school day. During holidays and study days we are open all day and offer a varied programme with outings and activities. At LoGé in huis, emotional safety and personal attention come first, so that every child quickly feels at home.
