Leuvensbroek 2010 after-school care, located in the Lindenholt district of Nijmegen, offers a safe and familiar place for children aged 4 to 12. Because we are housed in the same building as primary school De Wingerd, children experience a seamless transition from school to after-school care: they stay in a familiar environment and can immediately play with their school friends. Each afternoon begins with a quiet moment where the children enjoy a drink and some fruit. During this time, we chat about the school day and create a smooth transition to the activities. Afterwards, it’s time to play: outdoor activities on the spacious schoolyard, sports in the gym, reading a book, doing arts and crafts, or participating in a group activity. We tailor our offerings to what the children themselves enjoy. We use our own group room within De Wingerd primary school. This familiar space serves as our home base, where we always start the day together. Additionally, we make use of the wide hallway, the gym, and, during school holidays, the auditorium.
