De Kijkdoos

De Kijkdoos has been a trusted after-school care location in the Roombeek district of Enschede for many years. Our BSO team welcomes children aged 4 to 13 in two fixed groups: the Uilenbende (4-13 years) and the Uilenclub (7-13 years). We provide both before- and after-school care; on Monday through Thursday we run the before-school sessions and on Friday we offer full-day BSO. We pick up and drop off children at nine primary schools in the area: OBS Roombeek, CBS Anna van Buren, ESV, De Zeggelt, Menkotoren, Bonifatius, De Fontein, Prinsenschool Staringstraat and De Zonnewijzer. In the mornings children can quietly have breakfast and play until they are taken to school; in the afternoons a varied programme of activities awaits. Throughout the year we work with weekly themes. We use the nearby school playgrounds and the sports hall at Prismare, and we can take children to their sports clubs for the hourly rate, provided the location is no more than half an hour away. During school holidays we organise extra challenging BSO programmes with excursions and creative projects. Our pedagogical staff offer personal attention and form a warm, professional team. We believe it is important that children feel safe and seen, so that they can confidently explore the world.
