About this care
AI
Welcome to Korein Jan van der Diesduncstraat, our small-scale after-school care in the heart of Asten. Located on the ground floor of public primary school OBS de Horizon, children can walk straight into our safe space after the last bell rings. We offer 57 after-school places divided into two fixed horizontal groups: one for younger children (4-7 years) and one for older primary-school pupils (8-13 years). This allows us to tailor activities precisely to age and development.
Our backyard borders the famous Museum Klok & Peel and provides a beautiful, wooded play area. Children climb trees, build huts, spot squirrels and discover the seasons. We consciously use nature as a learning environment: while playing they learn about animals, plants and sustainability. In bad weather we move outdoor play to our spacious indoor gym, where we organise dodgeball, dance and movement courses.
With us, every child decides how to spend the afternoon. Feel like chilling with a book or tablet? That’s fine. Prefer to join a creative workshop or sports tournament? Also great. We offer at least two activities every day, but participation is voluntary. Popular choices are our cooking clubs, craft afternoons and sports-&-games. There is also always a quiet corner for homework guidance; experienced pedagogical staff are ready to help when needed.
Safety and trust are central. Our permanent team members know every child and every parent. We work according to the pedagogical policy of Korein Kinderplein, in which independence, respect and fun are the core values. In short: a pleasant place where children can be themselves after school and where parents can feel at ease.Read more
