KluppluZ Deelenstraat

KluppluZ Deelenstraat, known to us as ‘De Vuurvlinders’, is a small-scale after-school care centre in Geldrop. We are part of Kindcentrum De Vlinder, together with primary school De Vlinder and Korein we form one close-knit team. Our home at Deelenstraat 1 offers space for up to seven children aged 2 to 13 who have an additional support need. In our vertical group children of different ages play alongside and with each other. We believe this mix fosters social development and that younger and older children learn from one another. We work with the group while keeping every individual child in sharp focus. Our visual daily programme provides structure and calm. When a child needs extra guidance we create a personal programme that perfectly matches his or her developmental level and world of experience. Whenever the weather allows we are outside: on the playground, the climbing frames and with the go-karts. Inside you will find us in the hall or in one of the play corners; the little shop is a favourite with the children. We also regularly use the gym, where we build an exciting obstacle course with mats and benches. Communication is just as important to us as play. Some of the children are deaf or hard of hearing; therefore our pedagogical professionals also use Dutch Sign Language. We use this skill for children who speak another language or who do not yet speak, so that everyone feels understood. Parents literally walk in with questions or for advice; we consider their involvement indispensable. Together we ensure that every child receives the support needed to grow, learn and above all be happy.
