Atelier Verda

Atelier Verda is our small-scale after-school care centre in Haarlem, located at Jan Luykenstraat 116. We provide care for up to ten children aged 4 to 12 in one base group. A distinctive feature of our location is that we draw inspiration from anthroposophy. Our pedagogical policy aims to offer children a safe and healthy environment in which they feel emotionally secure and are playfully challenged in their development. We work with a permanent team of pedagogical staff who update the policy annually and discuss it with the team. Every two weeks, policy implementation is on the agenda of our team meetings. Parents are invited at least once a year for an evaluation conversation about their child’s development. Our centre is open 50 weeks per year, from 08:00 to 18:00 on school days and holidays. We are closed for the middle two weeks of the summer holiday. We offer one type of contract covering care on school days and holidays; study days can be booked as additional care. For children from VS De Kennemerland, we apply an adjusted rate on Wednesdays due to the earlier school dismissal at 13:00. Our parent committee, consisting of two active parents, advises us on policy and quality. Each year we discuss the inspection report with the parent committee.
