Kinderrijkhuis

Kinderrijkhuis is located at Grotestraat 97a in Sambeek and provides after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 12. We pick up and drop off children by bus, cargo bike or bicycle from primary schools in Sambeek, Vortum-Mullem and Boxmeer. After school all children start together in one of our three BSO rooms: Giraf, Nijlpaard or Dolfijn. Each room has a kitchen so we can cook or bake together. The layout is flexible: when children want to craft we push the tables together; when they want to relax we create a cosy corner with beanbags and sofas. Our large outdoor playground invites running, climbing and football. The grass field with climbing frames offers challenges for every age and the small animal paddock allows relaxed contact with our goats, sheep, pony and pot-bellied pigs. Children may help with the daily care. During school weeks we work with fixed pedagogical staff who know the children and sense their needs. They offer calm or challenge, depending on what the child needs after a school day. In the holidays we make extra use of our gym hall ‘de Aap’ and organise theme-based activities. We have an open-door policy between the BSO groups so children can choose where to play. Cooperation, discovery and experience are central. Our pedagogical staff hold all required diplomas, first aid and emergency response certificates and attend regular refresher courses. In this way we provide a safe, challenging place every day where school-age children can relax and develop.
