Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of Kinderopvang Zien Heerenveen, located at P J Troelstralaan 2 in the heart of Heerenveen. As part of the national organisation Kinderopvang Zien, we provide out-of-school care for children aged 4 to 12. We pick children up from nearby primary schools and offer them a safe, familiar place to play, discover and grow until early evening. Our pedagogical approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia and Emmi Pikler. We believe every child is unique and develops in their own way. We let children explore the world with wonder. Our pedagogical staff observe each child’s interests and respond accordingly. Does a child love building? We provide materials to unleash their creativity. Is a child always on the move? We encourage this with challenging play corners, ateliers and outdoor activities. In this way we challenge children to develop their talents and grow from their own curiosity. We place great value on a safe and familiar environment. Trust is the basis for growth and development. Therefore we work with familiar faces in each group, so children and parents quickly feel at ease. We also pay a lot of attention to sustainability. We consciously choose wooden toys and reusable materials and spend plenty of time outdoors with the children. Feeling, smelling, collecting – it is all part of their learning process. In this natural way children develop respect for their surroundings and learn to care for the world around them. Kinderopvang Zien Heerenveen offers care 52 weeks a year.
