Welcome to BSO Malin, located in the modern school building at Meengatstraat 25A in Brummen. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a cosy, small-scale setting. Our BSO group welcomes up to 20 children, following the statutory child-to-staff ratio. After school we collect the children from their own primary school. A qualified pedagogical employee or trainee picks them up in the classroom and walks them to the BSO together. We value personal contact with the teacher so we know how the school day went. Once everyone has arrived, we share a drink and a biscuit. The children can tell their stories and discuss any themes or news items. We encourage child participation: children help decide on activities and are given space to share their own ideas. Our space is one large, open group that can be partially separated by a low gate if needed. Younger and older children stay close together, allowing the older ones to be role models and learn to consider the younger ones. A big table offers room for crafts, games or simply enjoying a meal together. Special cupboards hold materials reserved for BSO children. Outdoor play is very important to us. We use the adjacent school yard with climbing frames, football goals and swings. The youngest children play under supervision, while the older ones may go outside independently. Large windows in the group room overlook the yard, so we always have a clear view. During school holidays and study days parents can sign their children up for extra days via a list on the notice board. Confirmation is sent by e-mail and any extra hours are invoiced separately. Our team consists of permanent, qualified pedagogical staff who know every child personally. Our core values are warmth, a homely atmosphere, flexibility and putting the child first. Together we create a safe, familiar place where children can develop and make happy memories.
