At KindZijn on Benderslaan 4 in Amstelveen we provide small-scale, welcoming after-school care right in the middle of a green environment. We are here for all primary-school children aged four to twelve, both before and after school, on study days and during holidays. Our pedagogical policy centres on social-emotional safety. We create a secure base in which children build self-confidence and are given space to explore their surroundings. Involvement is key: we know every child and understand what occupies and what they need. This allows children to relax and be completely themselves. Play is at the heart of our approach. Playing is fun, educational and an important preparation for life. Through play children develop social and personal competences and learn norms and values in a natural way. Every child is allowed to grow at their own pace; we offer both calm and inspiration. We spend a lot of time outdoors. We regularly venture into nature, because being outside makes children aware of their environment and stimulates their imagination. Creative activities are also on the programme: crafting, drawing, building and painting help children learn from each other and from themselves. A special highlight is our horse-riding: with the horses children can simply be themselves and build a genuine friendship. Our location at Benderslaan 4 has a spacious, green outdoor area where children can play and discover freely. Groups are deliberately small so that every child receives the attention they deserve. Together we form a close-knit team of dedicated pedagogical staff who, every day, want to let your child’s talents blossom.
