Keet in de Kerk

Welcome to BSO Keet in de Kerk, located in the characteristic former St Joseph’s Church at Burgemeester Thomas Wackersstraat 56A in Roermond. Our unique home blends historic architecture with a contemporary, homely atmosphere where children aged 4 to 12 feel safe and inspired. We are part of Keet in de Kerk B.V., a private organisation that has been providing high-quality childcare in the region since 2009. Our after-school care is designed to give children space to discover things for themselves and follow their own path. The Reggio Emilia philosophy is our main source of inspiration: we constantly ask ourselves, ‘What is keeping the children busy?’ rather than ‘What should we keep the children busy with?’. The interior—designed according to the principles of Loris Malaguzzi—assigns a distinct function to every corner: a stage for music and drama, an atelier for creative projects, a communal play hall for sports and games, and a kitchen where we regularly cook and bake together. After school a varied programme awaits, offering sports, play and creative activities. Children can choose what they join in with: painting and crafting in the atelier, football or tag in the play hall, helping to prepare a healthy snack, or simply relaxing with a book in the quiet corner. We provide flexible care so parents with changing work schedules can still make use of our services. We are open Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 19:00, 52 weeks a year (closed only on New Year’s Day, Easter Monday, King’s Day, Ascension Day, Whit Monday and Boxing Day). Safety and security are our top priorities. The building has secure entry and all staff are professionally trained. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account and provide healthy snacks and drinks. Our pedagogical staff know every child personally and tailor activities to their interests and developmental level.
