Kinderopvang Ikke - BSO De Zonnebloem

Welcome to BSO De Zonnebloem, part of Kinderopvang Ikke in Nijmegen-Oost. Our after-school care is located within De Zonnewende broad-based school at Berberisstraat 4. We provide care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12 years. At De Zonnebloem, everything revolves around nature experience and seasonal activities. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we create an environment where children learn and discover through play. We utilize the extensive facilities of the school, including the library and gymnasium, to enrich our activity program. Our dedicated staff welcome the children each afternoon with a warm reception. We always begin the afternoon with a shared quiet moment, followed by creative activities such as drawing, crafts, theater, and games. Additionally, we regularly organize forest scavenger hunts and seasonal projects like hanging birdhouses. We operate in horizontal groups, placing children with peers of similar age. Our pedagogical staff specialize in guiding children in the upper grades of primary school and provide homework assistance when needed. Children have ample space to be themselves and enjoy the freedom that De Zonnebloem offers, while staying in a safe and structured environment.
