BSO 'Het Tweede Thuis'

BSO ‘Het Tweede Thuis’ is located at Rients Koopmansstraat 1 in Franeker and is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Friesland. Our location provides after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12. We have been registered in the National Childcare Register under number 674226781 since 18 October 2010 and are supervised by GGD Fryslân. We are a bilingual site where both Dutch and Frisian are spoken. Children playfully become acquainted with both languages; we are certified for this and are supported by the SFBO knowledge centre. As we are not yet attached to one specific school, children from various primary schools are welcome. Our team consists of fixed pedagogical staff per group. We deliberately make little use of temporary staff so that parents and children always see a familiar face. Communication with parents takes place via newsletters, email, Klasbord and take-home notebooks. We offer both before-school care (from 07:00) and after-school care, during which we escort the children to and from school. At Het Tweede Thuis, children are given every opportunity to marvel and go on their own voyage of discovery. We work from a clear pedagogical policy that matches the development of each child. Our aim is to provide a safe, familiar place where children are happy to come.
