Welcome to BSO Het Paleisje Smitshoek, our small-scale after-school care centre in the Smitshoek district of Barendrecht. We provide a home-like environment for up to 21 children aged 4 to 12. Every school day we collect the children from De Wagenmaker, De Kameleon, De Springplank and De Schakel and bring them safely to our premises at Wagenmakerij 11. Our qualified staff follow the principles of Leisure-Time Pedagogy, offering a balanced mix of rest, structure and challenge. After a busy day at school, children can choose to play in our 600 m² garden, join a creative workshop or cook together in our children’s kitchen. Each week features a new activity programme centred on sports, play, nature and culture—think musical chairs, autumn-leaf crafts, pizza baking or a scavenger hunt in the park. During holidays and teacher-training days we provide full-day care from 07:00 to 18:30, including outings to playgrounds, museums and petting zoos. Healthy food matters to us: a warm lunch and fresh fruit are included. If your child has a special diet or allergy, we adapt the menu accordingly.
