't Schommeltje

Welcome to BSO ’t Schommeltje, located at Kerkstraat 253 in the heart of Hoogezand. We provide a warm, homely place where children aged 4 to 12 feel at home after school. Our guiding principle is cosiness; children are free to choose what they want to do and are part of one big family. Our pedagogical staff create an atmosphere of emotional safety. We are clear about what is and isn’t allowed, so every child feels free to explore and play. We encourage children to make their own choices. They may take out play or craft materials themselves and decide how to spend their afternoon. This autonomy builds confidence and offers plenty of opportunities for further development. Group composition varies each day; all children play together across ages. These mixed ages foster social skills: considering others, cooperating, resolving conflicts, and helping each other grow into social, responsible individuals. Our activity programme is broad and varied. We sing and dance together, do crafts, read, and organise creative moments. In our beautiful private garden children can romp and play safely. We regularly go on trips to the petting zoo, playground or city park. For children with language or reading delays we offer extra support through our child-tracking system.
