Eige Wijzz - Kleine Kapitein

Welcome to Eige Wijzz – Kleine Kapitein, our small-scale after-school care located at Bernhardstraat 2a in Bakel. We are housed inside primary school De Kleine Kapitein, so children step straight from their classroom into a familiar, safe environment. We welcome up to 40 children aged 4 to 13 and work closely with the school. Whenever possible we follow the same theme, let children get used to their future classroom and play together on the school playground. Our pedagogical staff are a safe haven for both child and parent. We believe every child should be able to be themselves and develop at their own pace. Therefore we give them space to learn and discover, guiding them in areas that match their perception of the world. Activities are varied: children can play a game, do crafts or enjoy outdoor play. We run two age-based groups and, together with the child, decide when it is time to move to the other group. Practically, before-school care starts at 7:00 a.m. Monday to Friday. After-school care runs Monday to Thursday from 14:45 to 18:30; Friday after-school care is available by arrangement. During school holidays and study days we are open Monday to Friday all day. Healthy snacks are provided: vegetables and fruit after school, followed later by a cracker, rusk or rice cake with healthy toppings. We value open communication with parents and carers. At drop-off and pick-up we enjoy a quick chat. Everything is open for discussion and we encourage parents to share their thoughts.
