Welcome to BSO de Speelhoeve, located in a beautifully restored farmhouse at Timmermannsweg 98 in Ysselsteyn. From the moment you step inside, the original beams, large central table and cosy furnishings give a warm, homely feeling that instantly puts both children and parents at ease. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children aged 4–12 in one close-knit base group. We are open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 52 weeks a year. During term time we collect the children from local primary schools and stay open until 18:30. On school-free days and holidays we welcome children from 08:15. Our staff or drivers use a fixed pick-up list so every child travels safely from school to the BSO. When parents request it, we can also drop children off at sports clubs or music lessons. Outdoor play and nature experience are at the heart of BSO de Speelhoeve. Our spacious, enclosed garden invites children to dig in the sand, run, climb and explore, and we guarantee at least one hour of outside play every day. We regularly organise trips to the village, the woods, the library or a local care home. During holidays we create a special “Holiday Madness” programme packed with creative workshops, treasure hunts and healthy cooking sessions. Children are free to choose how they spend their time. Each month we involve them in planning the activity programme through child participation: a small group fills a notice board with ideas for crafts, sports, nature and cooking activities. Our professional pedagogical staff guide, encourage and ensure a safe, positive atmosphere. Every child has a dedicated mentor, and parents receive photos, newsflashes and personal messages through our parent app KidsKonnect. Healthy food is a given. We serve fresh seasonal vegetables with a cracker or rice cake and provide fruit and healthy snacks throughout the afternoon. If your child has an allergy or dietary requirement we work with you to find a suitable solution. Extra days or credit hours can easily be requested via KidsKonnect. In short, BSO de Speelhoeve is the place where school-age children can relax, play and discover after a busy school day in a familiar, homely environment surrounded by nature.
