Kinderopvang De Ooievaar (BSO)

Kinderopvang De Ooievaar (BSO) is an after-school care facility located at Madesteinweg 13 in The Hague, offering a safe and active environment for up to 38 children aged 4 to 12. We provide daily pick-up service from the International School of The Hague, just a 5-minute walk away, and begin our programme as soon as school ends, continuing until 6:30 pm. Our setting is uniquely positioned next to the Ockenburgh forest and Kijkduin beach. Every day, we take the children outdoors to climb trees, play football, spot birds, explore the dunes, and enjoy the beach. We believe that daily exercise and time in nature are essential for a healthy childhood, so we go outside regardless of the weather, ensuring children are dressed appropriately. Language development is an integral part of our approach. All our staff are fluent in both Dutch and English, creating a rich bilingual environment where children naturally improve their language skills. This makes our BSO especially suitable for international families who want their children to build a strong foundation in Dutch language and culture while maintaining their English fluency. During school holidays, we run Holiday Camps filled with sports, creative activities, and nature exploration. Our team is committed to providing personalised care and flexibility, tailoring activities to the children's interests and ensuring each child feels valued and secure in our warm, welcoming environment.
