Club BijdeHandjes - Koningin Wilhelminaschool

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of BijdeHandjes at Van den Berglaan 12 in Voorthuizen. We are a Christian out-of-school facility where children aged 4 to 12 can feel safe, at home and fully challenged after school. Our location is within walking or cycling distance of nearby primary schools; our own pedagogical staff collect the children on foot, by bicycle or with the BSO bus/car, allowing parents to continue working without worry. As soon as the children arrive, a cosy snack and drink are waiting. Time to chat about the school day, after which the children decide how they want to spend their afternoon. At our place they are free to choose: join in energetic sports and games in the gym or on the playground, take part in a creative craft activity, play a game, or quietly read a book and do homework. Every day we offer a varied programme of activities tailored to the children’s age and interests. Our pedagogical staff recognise and nurture each child’s talents, giving every child space to develop in their own way. Our approach is well-considered and based on up-to-date pedagogical insights. We work from the Christian identity of BijdeHandjes: we sing Christian songs together, read stories from the children’s Bible and say grace before meals. All children are welcome, regardless of background. We believe it is important that children feel seen and loved and that they grow step by step into who they are meant to be. Together with parents we form a close ‘BijdeHandjes family’; we think along, discuss the child’s development and are always ready to lend a helping hand. At the end of the afternoon there is another shared moment with a drink and a fresh snack. We briefly tell parents how the afternoon went, so every child goes home with a smile. See you tomorrow!
