Kinderhuis Maminka

Kinderhuis Maminka is a homely after-school care facility located in a characteristic former Drenthe farmhouse at Veendijk 22a in Havelte. Our BSO provides a warm, familiar place for up to 30 children aged 4 to 13 years. In this beautiful rural setting between Meppel, Havelte and Steenwijk, we create an atmosphere where children feel safe and secure. At Maminka, we work from an anthroposophical pedagogical vision. This means we operate from 'the pedagogy of common sense and the warm heart'. We speak a language that everyone understands and where every child feels: 'You may be as you are'. Our permanent staff of well-trained pedagogical professionals knows each child personally, contributing to a close-knit community where everyone knows each other - from young to old. Our house is spacious, sunny and child-friendly furnished with lively architecture that invites play and discovery. Children have plenty of space to develop, both inside the cozy, homely spaces and outside in the natural environment. We believe it is important that children can be who they are and discover their own possibilities in an environment that offers safety, embrace, warmth and trust. Education at Maminka always takes place in consultation with parents and caregivers. We believe in open communication and actively involve parents in their child's development. Additionally, we have limited space for children with special developmental needs, where we can provide extra care and attention within our small-scale setting.
