Pien BSO

BSO Pien is a welcoming after-school care centre in the heart of Koudekerke, located at Anthonissenstraat 25. We are part of Kinderopvang Walcheren and provide care for children aged 4 to 13. Our location has two groups: Group 1 (ages 4-13, max. 23 children) and Group 2 (ages 4-7, max. 22 children). Each group has its own dedicated team of pedagogical staff and a familiar, age-appropriate space. We operate both horizontal and vertical groups. In our horizontal group, children of nearly the same age are together, while our vertical group brings together children of different ages. This allows us to tailor activities to the needs, interests and ages of the children. We offer a wide range of activities centred around Nature, Technology, Arts & Culture and Sports & Play. These include creative craft projects, sports games in the gym or on the playground of primary school ’t Klinket, nature activities in our garden or at the VCK football club grounds, and educational outings in the village and surrounding area. Our centre is located in a child centre that also houses a day-care centre and toddler group. We work closely with primary schools ’t Klinket and De Sprong. After school, children are either collected by our staff or walk to the BSO independently, depending on their age and parental permission. During school holidays we are open from 8:00 to 18:00 and combine groups from BSO Pien and BSO De Sprong for even more fun and challenging activities. We believe it is important for children to be themselves and we encourage their independence. We provide space for free play, where children can choose what they want to do. At the same time, we teach them to take each other into account and to set their own boundaries. We use a parent portal for communication with parents and regularly organise themed activities based on the children's wishes. Together we make the BSO a place where children love to come.
