BSO De Speelboom

BSO De Speelboom is located at Weerselosestraat 86 in Oldenzaal’s de Essen neighbourhood. As part of Humankind childcare and development, we provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. Our approach centres on Child Strength and Participation: children are given space to make their own choices, discover and experiment, developing independence and self-confidence. Our children’s council lets pupils actively co-decide on daily routines, activities and new ideas for the group. We believe children learn best by doing and by making decisions together. Sustainability is another core value: we immerse children in nature and let them experience how beautiful and important our planet is. Positive nature experiences at a young age teach them to treat every living thing with care. Health and exercise are equally important. We serve nutritious meals following the Dutch Nutrition Centre guidelines and encourage children to be active every day. Playing, sports and discovery are central, so children grow up healthy, happy and creative. BSO De Speelboom is a homely venue next to the school playground, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care. Together with the children, we create an environment where they can truly grow.
