De Schatkamer

BSO De Schatkamer is located in the characteristic Don Bosco building on Mimosaplein in Eindhoven. We welcome children aged 4–12 after school hours and base our work on anthroposophical principles: every child is seen as a unique individual and given space to be his or her true self. Calm, rhythm and repetition guide our daily programme, so children feel safe and look forward to spending their afternoons with us. Our afternoons are filled with carefully chosen activities that match children’s natural curiosity. Together we bake fresh bread, cook soup with vegetables from our own organic garden and pick herbs for the kitchen. Feeding the chickens, collecting eggs and baking pancakes over an open fire are all part of the experience. Everything takes place in small, vertical groups in which younger and older children learn from and help one another. Our qualified pedagogical staff offer genuine attention. We listen to what a child has experienced, wants, feels or thinks—whether expressed in words or otherwise. By recognising the individual and unique qualities in every child, we support them in shaping their free time within the rhythm of the day, the week and the year. De Schatkamer is more than after-school care; it is a place where children grow in confidence—in themselves and in others.
