Kindercentrum 't Gouden Hartje

Welcome to the After-School Care (BSO) of Kindercentrum ’t Gouden Hartje, located at Essenburg 1C in Ede. Our small-scale, homely centre offers a familiar place where school children aged 4 to 13 can unwind after school and recharge for the rest of the day. We collect the children on foot or by car from nearby primary schools and welcome them every afternoon with a smile and a healthy snack. Our BSO group “De Blije Hartjes” has a maximum of 20 children. The spacious, homely indoor area is divided into different corners: a creative corner with craft supplies, a quiet reading nook and a space where children can play or build. In addition, we have a separate room where older children can withdraw to do homework or quietly play a game. Our pedagogical staff are on hand to help with homework, lend a listening ear or join in an exciting game. We work with familiar faces, so every child has a trusted carer who knows his or her development well. The range of activities is varied and tailored to the children’s world of experience. We sing and dance, do crafts with different materials, read stories aloud and regularly go outside to play or take part in a sports activity. During school holidays and study days we organise trips to places such as the park, the library, an indoor playground or the cinema. On these days the children bring their own packed lunch and we provide sufficient supervision and safe transport. We believe healthy food is important. Every afternoon there is an extensive sandwich with toppings, fresh fruit and water or tea. During holiday days and study days the children also receive a hot meal, such as rice with chicken and vegetables or macaroni with minced meat. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account in consultation with parents. Our BSO is open Monday to Friday from 07.30 – 08.30 (before-school care) and from around 14.00 to 18.30 (after-school care). During holidays and study days we are open all day from 07.30 to 18.30. Parents receive regular updates via WhatsApp and newsletters, giving them a glimpse into their child’s experiences.
